"Optimised for fair weather conditions, and eschewing its former flagship runner status in place for retro sneaker royalty, these light grey sneakers use NB’s classic new balance outlet velvety pigskin suede for the majority of the upper. But it leaves some room at the toe box and ankle collar to substitute out the usual mesh option for very crispy inserts of smooth nylon-canvas, presented here in golden yellow tones. Even the ENCAP midsole, which is often rendered with a contrast heel unit to the forefoot, is one shade of blank. However, the outsole sticks to its usual black rubber. Super nice.

The startoriginals.com features a red base done up in a combination of premium suede and a ripstop nylon material that captures the look of the grid pattern found on the shirt. Green synthetic suede references the feel of a casino table’s felt and “00” and “36” are embroidered onto the heels as a nod to the first and last numbers on the roulette wheel. Additional features include a roulette wheel graphic on the tongue label, reflective 3M accents and co-branded lace plaques and sockliners. Last but not least, the left shoe sports one white dot to represent the roulette ball.
