Deshaun Watson genetically blessed and recovering ahead of schedule
By: Kevin McGuire, nbcsports.com

Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson is going to be one of the top players in the ACC, and perhaps the country, in 2015 if he bounces back from knee surgery. So it might be good for Clemson fans to learn he is reportedly ahead of schedule with his recovery.

“He’s doing great,” Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “If you know anything about Deshaun Watson, you would expect nothing less, other than to hear he’s way ahead of schedule.”

Very good news to hear regarding Clemson’s potential Heisman Trophy candidate quarterback. It should be expected Watson is given a light workload at best in the spring regardless of his progress.

“They have measurables as far as things that they look for with where a guy should be at certain checkpoints (with his recovery),” Swinney explained. “He just beats all those checkpoints. That’s just how he’s wired. Genetically, he’s blessed. His DNA and his work ethic … he’s just wired in a special way.”

Watson appeared in eight games as a freshman for Clemson in 2014. He ended the year with 1,466 passing yards, 14 touchdowns to just two interceptions. He also rushed for 200 yards and five more touchdowns. When he was put on the field, Watson gave Clemson’s offense a bit of a charge, providing optimism for the future of the offense in 2015.

A healthy Watson returning to Clemson is part of the reason the Tigers have received the early odds as favorites in the ACC in 2015. Florida State looking to fill some big shoes on its roster is another.

Let's hope he stays healthy. Would love to beat GT, SC,  FSU and ND AllIn the same year.
"Carolina is in Chapel Hill, USC is in California, and The University in this state always has been and always will be Clemson." Coach Dabo Swinney
