CLEMSON -- Don Munson will step into a new role calling play-by-play for Clemson football on the school's official radio network starting this fall, the university announced Wednesday. He replaces WSPA sports director Pete Yanity, who had held that role for the past 11 seasons.

Munson is currently Clemson's Director of Creative Media Services, heavily involved with social media functions, and has been the Tigers' baseball play-by-play announcer along with contributing other assorted radio duties.

"Having an experienced broadcaster like Don on staff, it's great to be able to use his talents throughout the year," director of athletics Dan Radakovich said. "Pete always represented Clemson in a first-class and professional manner and never strayed from his endeavor as a consummate broadcaster."

Yanity will not continue calling basketball games; the school did not say who would replace him courtside on the hardwood. Clemson did not offer explanation for the switch.

Former Clemson all-ACC offensive guard Will Merritt has been providing color commentary for football games; sports information director Tim Bourret does color for basketball games.
