Tillman Vandalization
« on: July 07, 2015, 10:03:51 AM »
When I went online today, I saw something that truly hit me hard. Someone has the audacity to vandalize one of the most recognizable buildings on campus. I understand that the country is going through this whole "cleansing" with political correctness (another argument for another time) but spray painting on Tillman is not the way to handle this. It just makes you seem more ignorant, and actually doesn't make your case nay better, if anything, it hurts it. Why should we stand up and listen to someone who supposedly "cares" about the naming of Tillman hall, when they obviously have no regard for it and vandalize it.

All you did was put a target on your back from those of us that actually care more bout the actual building than what it is called. If you take a good look, the handwriting of the spray paint looks awfully similar to the other vandalism cases around the state, most notably at the confederate memorial. Would not surprise me if it is just one person. They even used the same color spray paint.

All in all, I am not trying to support the man who Tillman was, but defending the University in the fact that vandalism is wrong, and whoever did it should be punished.

Better ways to go about this.
