Clemson WR Charone Peake Has Minor Knee Surgery

I'm of the opinion that there's no such thing as "minor knee surgery" for an athlete, but that's what Clemson is calling the proceduce that wide receiver Charone Peake underwent Friday. The school sent out a release announcing that Peake will miss at least the first week of camp when it begins in August.
“Charone was having a great summer, but tweaked a knee on Wednesday making a reception,” said Dabo Swinney in a release. “The surgery was successful and his ACL is fine. He will probably miss the first week of practice and then we will go from there. We expect him to play against Georgia in the season opener.”
The key part of Swinney's statement is that Peake's ACL is fine. Peake got off to a strong start in the 2013 season, but suffered a torn ACL during practice in September and missed the rest of the season. So any time a player is coming off a torn ACL and has a knee injury, it's worrisome.
Hopefully Peake, who finished last season with eight receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown in only two games last year, will be completely healthy for the Tigers this season, as they have some playmakers -- particularly one named Sammy Watkins -- to replace on offense.
